Wendy Christensen writes and paints at Bobcat Mountain Studios, high on a wooded hillside in rural New Hampshire. She shares her home with her scientist husband, more than 10,000 books (including over 1,000 cat books) and the family of dear feline muses who daily inspire her. Christensen is the co-author of "The Humane Society of the United States Complete Guide to Cat Care" (with the staff of the HSUS, St. Martin's Press, 2002). She's won numerous CWA MUSE MedallionsTM and Special Awards, including the 2002 IAMS Cat Food Responsible Cat Ownership Award; the 2002 Tidy Cats® Feline Behavior Award; the 2001 Purina Cat Chow® Nutrition Award; the 2000 Pets.com Award for "best online article;" and the 1999 CWA President's Award. She's written extensively on a wide range of feline topics -- including veterinary medicine; health and care; behavior; lifestyle; cats in art, history, mythology and culture -- for a wide range of cat-themed publications. (Also a member of the DWAA (Dog Writer's Association of America), Wendy has written for Puppies USA, Dogs in Canada, Your Dog (Tufts) and Natural Dog.) An award-winning illustrator, Christensen illustrated "Why Cats Do That: A Collection of Curious Kitty Quirks" by Karen Anderson (Willow Creek Press, 2001), and a children's book, "Daddy Day, Daughter Day" by TV's Larry King and his daughter, Chaia King (Dove Kids, 1997). She's illustrated numerous magazine articles and covers.
